What is SCAMP?

Clarkston SCAMP is a 5 week summer camp for individuals with disabilities.  SCAMP has been in operation for 50 years!  Come celebrate our Golden Anniversary with us!
 

What is Walk & Roll?

Walk & Roll is a FREE community event on Sunday, May 18th, to show support for SCAMP. This year, in honor of our 50th Anniversary, the theme is the 70s. Participants can enjoy walking or rolling (NO BIKES ALLOWED) around the track to earn bands. Bands are then exchanged for raffle tickets, which can be used to win amazing prize baskets!
 

When and where is Walk & Roll held?

Location: Clarkston Junior High School track
Date: Sunday, May 18th
Time: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
 

How long does Walk & Roll last?

Walk & Roll runs from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. However, you are welcome to attend whenever it works for you. The Dog Contest will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by the announcement of raffle winners.
 

What if the weather is not great that day?  Will it be rescheduled?

Walk & Roll will happen rain or shine.  Dress appropriately for the weather!
 

What does it cost to attend?

Walk & Roll is a completely FREE event. Raffle tickets are earned by participating in laps. Food trucks will be available if you wish to purchase food or drinks.


Do I need to register to attend?

Pre-registration is appreciated but not required. It helps event planners estimate attendance. 
 

What is the Golden Shoe?  How do I help my elementary school win it?

The Golden Shoe is awarded annually to a Clarkston elementary school with the highest percentage of student attendees. Be sure to check in at your school’s table at the entrance.

How do I buy my Walk & Roll tshirt?

T-shirts are available for pre-order online. Pre-ordered t-shirts will be ready for pickup at the event. Limited sizes and quantities will be available for purchase onsite. Pre-order sales close on Thursday, April 24th.
 

Do I need to buy a tshirt to attend?

T-shirts are not required to attend, but we recommend pre-ordering if you want one.
 

What does it really cost to go to Walk & Roll?

The event is FREE. Additional costs, if you choose to participate, include:

  • T-shirt purchases
  • Dog contest entry ($5 per dog)
  • Extra raffle tickets ($1 each or $20 for 25 tickets)
  • Food and drinks from food trucks
  • Donations to SCAMP

We accept cash, credit, Venmo, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal for purchases and donations.
 

What’s happening at Walk & Roll?

Activities include:

  • DJ and music
  • Bounce house
  • Food trucks
  • Walking and rolling laps to earn raffle tickets
  • Dog contest ($5 entry fee per dog)

It’s a fun-filled day for all ages!
 

What is being raffled off at Walk & Roll?

We will have our raffle baskets that you can earn tickets by doing laps.  Additional raffle tickets can be purchased for $1 each or $20 for 25 tickets.
 

Do I need to be present to win the raffle baskets?

Yes, you must be present to win.
 

How can I support Walk & Roll?

#1 - show up and show your support!  
#2 - spread the word and bring your friends and family!  
#3 - donate to SCAMP if you are able!  Supporters may donate online or at the event.  
 

What “wheels” can I bring to Walk & Roll?

All types of wheels are welcome, except bikes.
 

Can I bring my dog to Walk & Roll?

Yes, furry friends are welcome! Register for the Dog Contest at the Pet Wants table. Entry is $5 per dog.
 

Will there be food at Walk & Roll?

Yes, food trucks will be available with delicious options for purchase.
