Clarkston SCAMP is a five-week summer day program designed to support individuals with a wide range of emotional, physical, and developmental needs. Our nonprofit provides a safe, welcoming environment where SCAMPers build friendships, confidence, and lifelong memories through meaningful activities and community connection.
At SCAMP, every SCAMPer is seen, supported, and celebrated. Our program is intentionally designed to balance structure with joy—offering enriching experiences that meet SCAMPers where they are while encouraging growth, independence, and belonging.
While SCAMP is proudly based in Clarkston, more than half of our SCAMPers come from outside the district. All families are welcome to apply.

SCAMP is committed to ensuring that financial barriers never prevent participation.
The true cost of providing the SCAMP experience is approximately $2,300 per camper. Through the support of the North Oakland SCAMP Funding Corporation (NOSFC) – in-district tuition is $700 and out-of-district tuition is $1100.
Financial assistance is available through NOSFC, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit supported by a dedicated 22-member volunteer Board of Directors. Thanks to this support, SCAMP has never turned away a camper due to financial need.
NOSFC funding helps bridge the gap between tuition and actual program costs, allowing SCAMP to keep fees as low as possible while recognizing the significant financial demands many families face.
SCAMP provides more than just a great experience for SCAMPers—it also offers meaningful support for families.
Parents and caregivers can have peace of mind knowing their loved one is safe, supported, and engaged in a structured, caring environment. For many families, SCAMP provides much-needed respite while creating joyful summer memories for everyone involved.
SCAMP offers meaningful employment and volunteer opportunities for professionals, college students, and young adults. Many of our college aged and young adult staff and volunteers go on to careers in special education, healthcare, and related fields.
Our team includes:
Primarily school staff with experience supporting individuals with special needs
Ensuring individualized attention and responsive care
Who bring energy, empathy, and joy to every day at camp
At Clarkston SCAMP, we believe everyone deserves a summer filled with joy, learning, and connection.
Sponsoring a camp activity at SCAMP is more than a donation—it’s becoming part of the heart of our mission. For 50 years, SCAMP has been a place where children and adults with special needs can explore, grow, laugh, and shine. As we begin the next 50, your support helps carry this legacy forward with even more creativity, connection, and joy.
Activity sponsors bring the best of camp to life—art that sparks imagination, music that brings smiles, sensory play that comforts and engages, and special events our SCAMPers remember long after summer ends. Your gift provides the materials and enrichment that make these moments possible.
Most importantly, you’re helping build a future where every SCAMPer feels celebrated, supported, and inspired. Together, we can make the next 50 years extraordinary. Thank you for being part of the magic and for helping us continue a legacy of inclusion, joy, and life-changing experiences.
